CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WRCB-DT) - It was around 4:30am on Friday when shots rang out at Da Building on Dodds Avenue. An all-night 4th of July party had turned violent by early morning. Two people were hit: 32-year old Dedrick Hall was injured, 21-year old Ladarius Daniel was killed. Daylight revealed detectives tagging numerous bits of evidence, but the key to identifying the shooter lies with someone who attended the party. "There was around 50 to 100 people at 'Da Building' and they saw something," said Chattanooga Police Sgt. Daniel Jones.

Investigators believe the shooter had been in the club earlier in the late night or early morning hours, talking to people. "We know that there's people out there that know who the shooter was; saw who the shooter was," said Sgt. Jones. "We just need that one person to come forward with a phone number, with an ID, with a nickname, Just anything that can get us over this little hurdle that we have right now."

Why? Because in the sergeant's words, the investigation has hit a wall.

This is a more serious crime than we usually feature and the speed with which it has come to air shows police are serious about getting it solved. With the Crime Stoppers program, your identity will never be revealed; not to prosecutors, not to your family, your friends, nor your enemies. "We'll keep `em completely anonymous," Jones added. "No one will ever know about anything that they tell us."

Here is your chance to help. Get a killer off the streets. Earn up to a thousand dollars reward cash and most importantly, provide closure for a grieving family. "The family is distraught about losing one of their sons," said Jones. "We need to have that next interview, if you will, or that next encounter with them saying, 'we know what happened. Here's what happened, here's the person that did this, and it's now time for the court system to actually give you some justice.'"

Do you know anything about this crime? Up to a thousand dollars reward cash is waiting. Do the right thing and call Crime Stoppers: 698-3333

An officer may answer the phone or return your call but he will never ask your identity.
