The residents of a house and their cat escaped a fire Tuesday evening.

The blaze occurred around 6 p.m. on Rock Church Road in Dickson County.

The home was destroyed, but firefighters were able to pull the owner's cat from the home.

Medics personnel used an oxygen mask made for toddlers to help nurse the lucky feline back to health.
