The rainfall for July has been pretty incredible. Just over the weekend we saw 4.31" fall at the airport.  For the month at that location, we have seen 6.04" and it is only July 8th!  The average rainfall for the entire month  is 4.73"! Our surplus for the year has rocketed to 17.23" above normal.

Here is the general setup for this week.  The trough of low pressure that has been sitting over us for the past few days is sliding eastward.  That will take away the day long showers and thunderstorms we have been seeing.  With that said, there is still a TON of low level moisture that will combine with the daytime heating (highs in the upper 80s) to produce some afternoon showers and storms each afternoon.

The rain chance will increase a bit Thursday with a front approaching.  Behind the front, more stable air will settle in keeping the rain away Friday.

For the weekend, we will be back in the pattern of warm, humid air throughout the days with highs in the upper 80s, and a few showers or storms in the afternoon both Saturday and Sunday.
