Shelbyville Central sports facilities hit again by thieves

Posted: Updated:
SHELBYVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

As if once wasn't bad enough, thieves have hit a local school's sports facilities two more times.

Someone broke into the outdoor athletic facilities at Shelbyville Central High School Monday and Tuesday.

Police say the burglars ransacked the soccer storage building and sprayed graffiti on the walls.

They also damaged the storage rooms at the baseball and softball fields, vandalized playing fields and stole about $20 worth of candy.

The break-ins come just a few weeks after the first crime, in which thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of baseball and softball equipment at the school.

However, this time around, they left a clue: a pry bar wrapped in two towels. Investigators hope this could help them lead to the culprits.

If you know anything that could help investigators, give Shelbyville police a call.
