Erlanger opens new urgent care facility

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Erlanger has opened a new urgent care facility in Chattanooga.

The new Erlanger Urgent Care is located at 7280 Volkswagen Drive and is treating patients for non-emergency medical needs.

Services include vaccinations, radiology, pharmacy, family medicine and medical treatment for acute illness and minor injuries.

The office  is open every day of the week. It's open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays except for Christmas.

"Approximately 40% of the individuals in our community do not have a primary care physician or participate in some sort of preventative medicine," said Donna Bourdon, President of ContinuCare, a subsidiary of Erlanger.  "Providing this service to those who live in the Bonny Oaks, East Brainerd and Ooltewah areas is important to the wellbeing of our community."

Most insurance plans are accepted and co-pays are collected at the time of the visit.

"Costs to the patient at Urgent Care are relatively low compared to an emergency room visit for the same minor ailment," added Bourdon.  "Patients will be billed the same as they would if they were treated at a primary care office.  This added service through Erlanger will also benefit area businesses and save out-of-pocket expenses for their employees."
