Good Friday! We will be hot and humid today, but some strong storms are possible, especially this afternoon.
Highs today will reach about 92 degrees with the heat index between 95 and 98. The heat and humidity will combine with low pressure to our north that will sag southward into the area stirring up some strong storms this afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center has us under a "slight" risk of severe weather, with the biggest threats coming from hail and winds in excess of 60 mph. The threat from tornadoes is negligible, but we will keep an eye out.
I expect the storms to move out tonight after 10pm. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, but dry. I can't rule out a very isolated shower or two Saturday, but it is unlikely with the rain chance only at 20%
Sunday through next week we will settle into a pattern of somewhat unstable air and slightly cooler air. Highs will be in the mid 80s with afternoon and evening showers and storms possible each day.
