ADHD diagnosis study

Posted: Updated:

When it comes to ADHD, a new study shows there is a racial disparity in the diagnosis of that condition.

Black and Hispanic children are much less likely than white children to be diagnosed with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder.

The odds of a diagnosis were 50% lower for Hispanic children than for white children and 69% lower for African American children.

Researchers at Penn State found the disparity means minority children are less likely to get proper treatments that could help them in school.
