Clarksville native transfers from Florida to Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Guard Chandler Cooper has transferred from Florida to Lipscomb so she can be closer to home in Tennessee.

Lipscomb coach Greg Brown announced her transfer Thursday.

The Clarksville native was the third-ranked prospect from Tennessee before signing with Florida out of high school. She played in only the first three games of the season for the Gators before a strained left arch kept her out the rest of the year.

Lipscomb is where both her parents graduated, and her father played for the men's team between 1986 and 1990. Cooper says she grew up going to Lipscomb basketball camps and called the move a great situation for herself.

Brown says they obviously are excited to get a player who fits his motion offense and understands the Lipscomb culture.
