MOUNT PLEASANT, TN (WSMV) -

A former star high school quarterback is facing new charges that may destroy any hope he had left for a college football career.

In March, Princeton Harlan pleaded guilty to a rape charge in exchange for a lighter sentence. He admitted to having sex with a 12-year-old girl when he was 18.

Now, after the latest alleged offense, police are pushing for jail time.

"We would hope that he is sentenced to his 10 years and has to do his time," said Mt. Pleasant police chief Tommy Goetz.

Harlan is banned from being around anyone underage as a part of his probation requirements and the restrictions he faces as a registered sex offender, but police say they spotted the 19-year-old playing basketball with a group of juveniles over the weekend.

When officers then went to serve the arrest warrant at the motel where Harlan has been living, police say they found him hanging out with a 17-year-old girl, which is another alleged violation.

Plus, police say they found a large amount of marijuana in his room.

"It was about 1-and-a-half ounces, all packaged and ready for resale," Goetz said.

Harlan and two other Mt. Pleasant High School football players were accused last year of rape for allegedly having sex with the same 12-year-old girl at separate times. Harlan later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of facilitation of rape in exchange for a lesser sentence.

Now, Harlan's girlfriend, Crystal Clark, is speaking out for the first time about the conviction.

"He will tell you, absolutely, that he takes responsibility that happened," Clark said.

Clark claims the 12-year-old lied to Harlan about her age and said Harlan took the plea agreement out of fear he'd lose the fight in court.

Clark said, ever since, Harlan's been trying to salvage his future.

"He was applying to colleges and trying to play football and to get a career," she said.

However, police say, this time Harlan may have lost that chance for good.

"He didn't abide by the rules or by the law, and to us that's a clear indicator that he's not going to," Goetz said.

Harlan is charged with violating the sex offender registry and his probation, as well as one count of felony drug possession.

Police said the judge will not allow Harlan to post bond this time.
