UPDATE: Officer back to work after weekend shooting

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - A Chattanooga Police officer was briefly placed on leave with pay after being involved in a shootout on Long Street Saturday.

Police say Officer Justin Headden fired several shots at a suspect. Officials say two suspects were shooting at people during the Southside Reunion Saturday.

None of the shots fired hit anyone. The suspects fled the scene.

Officers have confirmed that there were validated gang members at the Reunion, but there is no evidence at this time to support the claim that they were involved in the shots fired.

Headden was briefly placed on administrative leave with pay pending investigation, but is now back to his regular patrol.

Police ask if you have any information to give them a call.
