One of the best parts about CMA Fest is actually getting the chance to meet your favorite country music artists.
The best place to do that is Fan Fair X at the Music City Center, and there was a very familiar face there Friday greeting his biggest fans.
Blake Shelton, who was scheduled to perform Friday night at LP Field, took a moment away from the stage to accept recognition for his album's double No. 1 status.
But he is not one to take all the credit.
"Tonight, I'll be out there on the stage, in front of all those people and soaking up all the glory, and I had the easiest part of all this, you know," Shelton said. "It's all these people on the stage and half the people in the audience who really make this happen."
Shelton divides his time between music and NBC's The Voice, and right now The Voice is taking the lion's share of his time.
"That's what gets me excited - the fact that it's the most popular music show, and we never waver from the fact that we want to encourage these people to follow their dreams and give them confidence," Shelton said.
Shelton and his wife, country music superstar Miranda Lambert, have had their priorities in order.
"I've never been more settled, more comfortable in my skin and my life than I am now," Shelton said. "Part of that is being back home and living in Oklahoma again, just down the street from my mother. And the fact that I'm married now and get to go home to my wife and mess around in the garden and just to that chapter in my life where I'm like, 'This is living. This is life.'"
