NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators have hired Scott Nichol as the team's director of player development.
General manager David Poile announced the hiring Wednesday.
Nichol will evaluate and work with the team's prospects on all levels, and he will focus on off-ice workouts, conditioning, practice habits, nutrition and game performance.
Poile said in a statement that Nichol will play a vital role in helping prospects reach their full potential for an organization that prides itself on developing home grown talent.
Nichol recently finished a 20-season professional career including 662 NHL games with Buffalo, Calgary, Chicago, Nashville, San Jose and St. Louis. He was with the Predators between 2005 and 2009. He said he enjoyed working with younger players while still playing and is excited to be back with the Predators.
