Is your pool safe for swimming?

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Centers for Disease Control says there's an increasing number of infections caused by bacteria in public pools.

Now, there's a way you can test the pool your child may use this summer.

The website HealthyPools.org has free test kits. They'll send you strips to dip in the pool before you dive in.

The strip won't tell you if there's bacteria in the pool but will determine if the chlorine is high enough to kill bacteria.

Experts advise swimmers to always take a shower before jumping in. This will prevent you from bringing more bacteria into the pool.
