A Portland woman was killed when her vehicle collided with a tractor trailer in Sumner County on Saturday.
The wreck happened just after 8 a.m.
Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said that Stephanie Law, 43, lost control of her silver Chevy Impala as she traveled north on Highway 109.
Law crossed the divided median, striking a Big G Express tractor trailer in the rear tandem axle, Weatherford said.
The tractor trailer was driven by Brady Adkinson, 40, of Sparta, TN. Adkinson was not injured.
Law died at the scene as the result of her injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their safety belts, police said.
Highway 109 was shut down for about 6 hours while police investigated.
