SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) -

Police responded to a domestic call at a home on Hazelwood Drive just before 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

When they got to the scene they found a non-working meth lab. Two kids were in the home.

Edward Tarpley, 46, and Tabitha Tarpley, 45, are both charged with initiation of a meth lab, promotion of methamphetamine, possession, and 2 counts of child abuse.

Police say the two children are now in the custody of their grandparents.

The Fire Department removed the meth materials from the home and the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force will take possession of the items.
