NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The National Weather Service has allowed previous tornado warnings in Giles and Lincoln counties to expire as strong storms move northward from Alabama.

No tornadoes have been confirmed on the ground in Tennessee, but WAFF-TV in Huntsville, AL, reported previously that a tornado was spotted on the ground near Athens, AL.

A Channel 4 News viewer reports storm damage in the 300 block of Hardiman Road in Ardmore, AL, near the Tennessee state line.

One person has been injured in northern Alabama after they were running to take cover from the storm.

There are no active watches or warnings in effect in Middle Tennessee. Scattered storms are expected throughout the weekend, with high temperatures in the mid-80s.
