Metro Police have identified the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the intersection of North Gallatin Pike and Atlas Avenue as Benjamin Hall, 26, of Fairview.

Officers said Hall was driving his pickup north on Gallatin Pike around 2:45 a.m. when, for reasons not yet determined, traveled off the right side of the road, vaulted over a driveway and then struck two electric poles.

Hall was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.

The truck ended upside down and trapped in electrical wire. The accident knocked down electrical wires into the road. Nashville Electric Service had to shutdown the power while the accident was cleared.

Police said there was no physical evidence of alcohol or drug involvement.

Police blocked the road for several hours, but it's now reopened.
