(NBC) - The Federal Government plans to spend more than $500 million to help repair damage from Super Storm Sandy.
The $475 million will be used to rebuild parks, refuges and other land and public facilities damaged in the October storm.
Money will also go towards historic preservation efforts and storm research efforts.
The storm was the second costliest in the nation's history.
