Police have identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash on Broadway as Terry Lee Ford, 55, of Arbor Creek Way.
The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Sunday at a parking garage near the corner of Broadway and 21st Avenue North.
Police say Ford was driving without his headlights on and traveling 46 mph in a 30 mph zone when a West Precinct officer attempted to stop him, but he did not stop.
Ford continued at about the same speed for less than a mile before losing control.
The car struck a brick planter and went airborne before coming to rest in a parking garage.
Ford, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear what caused Ford to lose control.
There was no physical evidence of alcohol or drugs at the scene.
The medical examiner will conduct toxicology testing to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role.
