Murfreesboro Armory renamed after fallen soldier

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Tennessee National Guard honored a local fallen soldier on Saturday.

They renamed their Murfreesboro Armory after First Lieutenant William Emmert.

Emmert was killed in combat while deployed to Iraq in 2009.

He was a platoon leader with 269th Military Police Company out of Murfreesboro.

The armory held a special dedication ceremony Saturday afternoon.
