Rainy weather cancels Main Street JazzFest

Posted: Updated:

Organizers of the Main Street JazzFest said its schedule for Saturday, May 4 has been canceled due to inclement weather.

With a steady forecast of rain on the radar for Saturday, organizers decided the event could not go on as planned.

"I'm really disappointed that we had to cancel the event. It's going to rain all day and it's not a festival without kids alley and people sitting around in lawn chairs having a good time," JazzFest Event Chair Laura Bohling said.

"Last night was a great night with all of the area high school bands participating and we were hoping for the best this weekend. We encourage everyone to come back next year and join us for one of Murfreesboro's premiere events." Bohling added.

The committee would like to thank all the sponsors, organizers, volunteers and attendees who contribute to its success each year.
