Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Flood Watch is in effect for eastern Middle Tennessee through Sunday evening at 7 p.m.

During the day Sunday, the rain chance in Nashville is 70 percent, while the rain chance remains at 90 percent for areas east of Nashville.

In these eastern areas, we expect rainfall totals between 2 and 4 inches (some localized areas could get up to 5 inches of rain).  If you live in a flood-prone area, please monitor water levels and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.

Additionally, Flood Advisories have been issued for numerous creeks and rivers (A Flood Advisory means water is running high but not expected to flood).

The Cumberland River at Dover is high but not expected to flood.

The Tennessee River at Clifton and the Buffalo River near Lobelville are all high but not expected to flood.
