NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators have signed their sixth-round draft selection in 2012 to a 2-year, entry-level contract.
The Predators announced the deal Friday with goaltender Marek Mazanec.
Mazanec, 21, was Nashville's ninth draft selection and the 179th overall in 2012. He is expected to play his first season in North America in 2013-14 after recently leading Plzen to its first Czech League title. He stopped 48 of 51 shots in a double overtime win in Game 7, and he also posted a .932 save percentage during the playoffs.
The goalie played for the Czech Republic at the 2011 World Junior Championships and the 2009 World Under-19 Championships.
