NBC weatherman Al Roker profiled a Middle Tennessee dairy farm on Wednesday's Today show.
Sharon Hatcher of College Grove, TN, was one of the winners in Today's Wake Up with Al contest.
Hatcher is the owner of Hatcher Family Dairy, a 200-acre, six-generation farm in Williamson County.
"Their application really stood out because not only is it a family owned farm, but they still have family members living on the property, and I think that's such a great story," said Roker.
During Wednesday's show, Roker performed a variety of farm work, including feeding two calves, milking cows and showing off his tractor-driving skills.
"I thought it would be great if we could visit and - in a sense - honor people who are integral to our society: farmers in America," Roker said. "Family farmers in this country are really under appreciated. They work hard, and they really get the job done for America."
"We want people to know that agriculture's important and our farms are important as well, because we are the food supply and we are the caretakers of the land," said Jennifer Hatcher, a veterinarian at the farm.
Dozens of fans woke up early to welcome Roker, showed up at the farm with handmade signs and get an opportunity to snap a picture with the famous weatherman.
