NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The family of a Tennessee State University student who died last year during a football practice is now suing the university.

Wayne Jones' parents claim TSU coaches didn't tend to their son quickly enough after he collapsed and delayed calling 911.

The lawsuit seeks damages up to $5 million.

This litigation is in addition to a complaint filed against the state in January, in which Jones' family is asking for $600,000 for pain, suffering, funeral expenses and the value of the loss of life.
