Nashville runs for Boston

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Local runners are lacing up their tennis shoes to support the victims of the Boston bombings.

At 6:30 a.m. Sunday, runners set out from Centennial Park for a 6.5-mile run to downtown and back.

About 50 people were there for the run, and some of them were participating in The Boston Marathon during the bombings.

Some of them had already finished the race while others didn't. There was a moment of silence and a prayer before the run.

Organizers are collecting donations for a designated relief fund.
