Three people were injured in a four vehicle wreck on Highway 31E near Martin Lane on Tuesday morning.
According to Gallatin Police spokesman Bill Storment, the accident occurred when a Mercedes headed south driven by Paulette Ross of Tompkinsville, KY, crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 31E causing a chain reaction accident.
Ross struck a Nissan Altima driven by David Schaufuss of Franklin, TN. Ross, Schaufuss and Paulette Ross, a passenger in the Altima, were not injured.
The final two vehicles involved in the accident were a Jeep driven by Shayn Dobbs, and a Chevrolet pickup driven by Emily Bryant of Westmoreland, TN.
Bryant was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dobbs and her passenger April Williams were transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center.
The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. The road was closed while officials completed the accident reconstruction investigation.
The cause of the accident is not known at this time. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved.
