On Saturday, officers with the Hendersonville Police Department were dispatched to 161 Indian Lake Blvd, Demo's Restaurant, on a call of a woman that had been stabbed. Upon their arrival, the officers made contact with Angie Buffington.
Buffington advised officers that she had been stabbed by her boyfriend in Nashville. An ambulance was called to the scene, at which time Buffington refused treatment. She had minor scrapes on her arms.
The Metro Nashville Police Department advised that they were currently at the scene of an Aggravated Burglary in which Buffington was a suspect. They requested that Buffington be taken into custody for the aggravated burglary and transferred to their officers at the Davidson/Sumner County line.
As Hendersonville officers attempted to take Buffington into custody she became combative and refused to comply with officer commands.
She placed her vehicle in reverse and attempted to flee the scene, striking one officer on the leg, and endangering two others. After crashing her vehicle into a sign, she attempted to flee the vehicle on foot and was taken into custody.
Buffington was transported to the Sumner County Jail and is being charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, one count of simple assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, evading arrest and vandalism over $500.
