Another piece of a temple from Japan washes ashore

Posted: Updated:

Another piece of a sacred arch, likely from Japan, was found in Siuslaw South Jetty near Florence.

It appears to be the top horizontal piece of a sacred arch and looks similar to another object removed near Oceanside on March 25. This piece is painted black and red and is 14 feet long and 3 feet wide.

It has been taken to a nearby state park maintenance compound for safekeeping.

The Consular Office of Japan in Portland has been contacted about this second find. The exact origins of both the Oceanside and the Siuslaw South Jetty objects are not yet known.
