More Ft. Campbell soldiers return from Afghanistan

Posted: Updated:

A brigade stationed at Fort Campbell touched down at the post early Tuesday morning after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.

About 140 soldiers walked into the arms of family and friends around 2:30 a.m.

"It's a blessing to come back. Coming back to this is a beautiful thing," said soldier Jelani Edwards.

The group is part of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade Wings of Destiny of the 101st Airborne Division.

"I'm feeling good. It was a long deployment, and I'm just glad to be back with everybody," said soldier Jacob Clark.

More than 500 soldiers stationed at the post have returned home in the past few months.

The homecomings are expected to continue until the U.S. pulls out of Afghanistan and hands over full control to Afghan forces by 2014.
