A 91-year-old Maury County woman was placed in police custody for five hours Saturday after she was accused of using a broom and then a gun to assault two men.

Eleanor Beatrice Boshers was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after she allegedly used a broom to strike two men who were apparently mowing a portion of her property on Highway 166 North in Mount Pleasant.

When the broom didn't get the job done, Boshers reportedly went back inside and got her gun.

According to our news partners at the Daily Herald, the police report said Boshers yelled "I'll put you in the morgue!" then started shooting.

Boshers said she did not have a clear recollection of what took place.

"I've never been arrested before," said Boshers in the newspaper report. "I'm sorry it happened."

As for the two mowers, they were not hurt.
