Family hopes annual motorcycle ride brings their missing loved ones home

A lot has probably happened in your life since 2004. For one mid-state mother, one thing about her life hasn't changed in nine years: her desperate need to find her daughter and granddaughter. Jennifer and Adrianna Wix suddenly vanished in Robertson County.

But their family has not given up hope and is ready for a renewed effort to find them, thanks to dozens of motorcycles. It's called the Chain of Hope Ride, which is set to take off Saturday.

This is the third year Kathy Nale, Jennifer's mother and Adrianna grandmother, has organized the ride on the anniversary the pair disappeared.

The ride is held "so more people know who Jennifer and Adrianna are, what their story is and can talk about them to other people," Nale said.

Jennifer and Adrianna were last seen at a Robertson County gas station by Wix's boyfriend, who claims they got into a car with someone and drove away. That was nine years ago.

"It's been hard because you kind of live like one foot is in 2004 and one foot is in today," Nale said. "So you live life every day trying to search and trying to find the answers and trying to find out what happened to them."

But Nale hopes this year answers come from the Chain of Hope Ride. Nale says while she's grateful for the support, it's also a reminder another year has passed without her daughter and granddaughter.

"It is very bittersweet, it is. They should be there," Nale said. "We shouldn't be going through this. We just shouldn't."

The Chain of Hope Motorcycle Ride begins Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Goodlettsville K-Mart on Long Hollow Pike. Riders will head to the Springfield Walmart, where at 1:30 p.m., all will take part in an annual balloon release to remember Jennifer and Adrianna.
