Preds rookie Taylor Beck tries to make his mark

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

When the Nashville Predators were struggling two weeks ago, General Manager David Poile and Head Coach Barry Trotz felt they had to make a move to rustle things up, and one of those was bringing in Taylor Beck.

The 21-year-old rookie forward is proving quite the find.

"It's a dream come true, for sure, to finally be here," Beck said. "I'm just trying to let it soak in."

So far, Beck hasn't had much time to let it soak in, as he's played four games in his first seven days with the Preds.

Beck brought the Bridgestone Arena crowd to its feet last Saturday when he scored his first career NHL goal in the first period against Columbus.

"Sigh of relief. I had a few good changes in the first couple of games, and to get that goal was obviously a terrific feeling," Beck said.

"Any time a guy scores his first goal in the National Hockey League I think it's a special moment in his life," Trotz said. "It's not like any other goal."
