Michigan Kroger stores issue recall over E. Coli tainted pizza

Michigan Kroger Stores are issuing a recall of Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices. The pizza could possibly be contaminated with E. Coli bacteria.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) announced Farm Rich products is voluntarily recalling 196,222 pounds of product because of possible E. Coli 0121 contamination. 

At this time, the recall only affects 22 oz. Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, with a "Best Buy" date of May 15 or May 16, 2014, in the Kroger Michigan Division. The product UPC code is 4132235643.

"All Kroger customers who purchased the recalled product using their Kroger Plus Card will receive a phone call and a message on the bottom of future receipts stating the recalled product was purchased," said Dale Hollandsworth, Customer Communications Manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan.

The store has pulled this product from its shelves. Customers who purchased the pizza will receive a full refund.
