Mom thanks responders who helped deliver twins along I-65

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

A Middle Tennessee mother got the chance to say "thank you" Thursday to the first responders who helped deliver her twins on the side of Interstate 65.

The girls - Heidi and Brooklyn Howard - are now a month old and were held tenderly by the paramedics who were at the right place at the right time.

Paramedics Michael Cooke and Scott Barnes were only half a mile away when they got the call that Anne Howard was in labor in the back of a minivan being driven by her mother.

That minivan attracted the attention of Williamson County Deputy Ray Dilworth because it passed him at 85 mph.

"I want to thank Deputy Dilworth. It's probably not very often that he gets thanked by someone he pulls over, but thank you for pulling us over that day," Anne Howard said.

"And no, I did not write a ticket. For all my hate mail out there, there was no ticket," Dilworth said.

The twins were perfectly healthy, and the paramedics said if you could ever have a textbook birth on the side of the interstate, this was it.
