Substation problem causes power outage for 1,000

Posted: Updated:

Some Mid-Michiganders may be wondering why the power is out east of Saginaw.

Detroit Thomas Edison says from the Saginaw/Tuscola county line east to N. Vassar Road, from a little south of M-81 north to Fairgrove Road is without power due to a substation problem.

The power for the 1,000 people affected in that area went out around noon and crews are on the way to repair the substation.

DTE did not give TV5 a restoration time.
