Driver identified in fatal Rutherford County wreck

Posted: Updated:

An Indiana man died Monday when the vehicle he was driving crashed in Rutherford County.

Craig Miller, 59, of Fort Wayne, IN, was driving a 2001 Jeep Wrangler about 4:30 p.m. along Almaville Road, near Spanntown Road just north of State Route 840, when the vehicle left the road, struck a bridge barrier and overturned in a creek bed.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Miller was wearing a seatbelt, but it would not have made a difference in this crash.

No other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the crash is not known.
