NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Hail and thunderstorms have pummeled most of the Channel 4 viewing area on Sunday.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for much of the afternoon.

Viewers in Clarksville, Vanleer, Woodlawn and Dover have reported marble and pea-sized hail from the severe thunderstorms. Golf-ball sized hail was reported in Franklin, KY.

Trees were knocked down in Overton County, and crews were busy clearing those off area roads, according to sheriff's office dispatchers.

Mt. Juliet recreation league officials canceled baseball and softball practices and games Sunday due to the rain.
