Buildings destroyed by fire in northern Sumner Co.

Posted: Updated:

A garage caught fire and spread to some nearby buildings Friday morning in a rural area of northern Sumner County.

The fire occurred around 7:20 a.m. in the 450 block of Keen Hollow Road, say local police.

Crews said the fire spread to two or three others buildings that were filled with equipment.

Volunteer firefighters from Westmoreland, Highland and Oak Grove responded to the scene. Fire crews said they were challenged because there aren't a lot of fire hydrants in the area.

They were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes.

No homes were threatened, but the garage and other buildings were destroyed.
