NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV-AP) -
Winter's grip is holding on in Middle Tennessee despite the calendar saying spring has sprung.
On Friday morning, snow showers, especially southwest of Nashville, will transition to a rain/snow mix, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Nancy Van Camp.
Very light accumulation, about a 1/2 inch or less, is expected mostly in the southwest and southernmost areas of Middle Tennessee. No accumulation is expected in Nashville.
The precipitation will change to rain by the late morning and early afternoon Friday.
Crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation treated area roads Thursday night into early Friday morning.
"The majority of the Middle Tennessee area, we are not brining ahead of this system, because it is coming in with rain first and rain would just essentially wash that brine away," said TDOT spokeswoman Deanna Lambert.
