COOKEVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A man entered a Putnam County bank and threatened to rob it Tuesday afternoon, but police said he got scared and walked out without any cash.
Cookeville police said the man walked into the F & M Bank on South Willow Avenue around 4 p.m., according to the Herald Citizen.
The man handed the teller a note that said "this is a robbery." However, the teller told police after a brief moment the man left the counter and exited the bank.
The man was wearing a hat and jacket but wasn't covering his face.
Police said he possibly drove away in a white Chevrolet without a license plate. He's described as 25 to 35 years old with red hair.
If caught, the man will face attempted robbery charges.
