Memorial service for Opry star Jack Greene open to fans

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Country music fans and friends can say goodbye to Grand Ole Opry star Jack Greene at a special memorial service honoring the "Jolly Green Giant."

The service is set for Wednesday, March 27 at the Ryman Auditorium.

Greene passed away last week because of complications from Alzheimer's.

He won numerous country music awards in the 1960s and 70s and was the first ever CMA Male Vocalist of the Year.

The service, "Celebration of Life and Love of Jack Greene," will begin at 11 a.m.
