A person was killed in crash in Cheatham County on Thursday morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
A 2007 GMC pickup and another vehicle were parked at 6:25 a.m. on Cheatham Dam Road facing westbound. The driver of the other vehicle was out of the vehicle, but passengers were still inside.
The concrete truck was traveling east when the driver, Robert W. Ashabrane, 43, of Clarksville, TN, said his brakes failed.
As Ashabrane attempted to avoid another vehicle, he struck the front of the GMC pickup, causing it to hit the third vehicle. The concrete truck turned over onto Sergio Garcia-Lopez, 33, who had been driving the GMC pickup.
Garcia-Lopez died at the scene. The THP report did not indicate what city or state he was from.
