Crime Stoppers: East Brainerd Rite Aid Robbery

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WRCB-DT) - Investigators believe the subject of this week's Crime Stoppers report is not a rookie. "This guy, he never shows his face to the camera," explains Chattanooga Police Sergeant Daniel Jones. "Not one time."

The pictures and surveillance video come from the East Brainerd Rite Aid. It was Wednesday, February 20th around 9:20am. Sgt. Jones describes who we're looking for. "This individual is a white male," he said. "He's approximately anywhere between 20 to 30 years old, somewhere around 5'8"-5'9". Even though in the video it's showing that he looks like he's kind of a big guy, the victims are telling us he's actually a skinny guy; that he put on a lot of clothing to bulk himself up."

At the pharmacy counter, the thug hands the clerk a note in which he demands narcotics. "They ended up complying with him because, the clerk, you know, basically looks at the guy and says, you know, 'Is this for serious? Is this for real?' The gentleman shows him a pistol that he's got in his waistband," said Jones.

Having stolen what he came for, he ran out of the store, heading toward some nearby apartments. Have a close look at the pictures. If you do not recognize the black jacket, gray hoodie, and big orange ball cap, maybe his distinctive mannerisms will ring a bell. "If you know of someone that's bragged about hitting another pharmacy at another time," continued Jones, "some place else, even another county, another state even. This guy here is definitely someone that needs to be caught."

The fear is, he will do it again. "Hopefully, there will never be anybody that would try to contest this guy and see what he's willing to do," said Jones.

Do you know this crook? His identity is worth up to a thousand dollars for you. Call Crime Stoppers with your tip: 698-3333.

An officer may answer the phone, but we will never ask your identity.
