Emergency responders train at Bonnaroo grounds

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (AP) - A 4-day simulated emergency drill was staged at the site of the Bonnaroo music festival in Manchester by federal emergency responders to help them prepare and train for a large scale emergency.

The Homeland Response Force, which is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, spent four days at the rural 700-acre farm that hosts the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival every summer, which draws about 80,000 music fans every year.

Coffee County EMA Director Allen Lendley told The Tullahoma News said they were glad to have the emergency responders from Atlanta train at the site because the exercise was beneficial to local authorities as well.

The drill analyzed communication and emergency response to the site in a variety of emergency scenarios, including a plane crash.
