19-year-old man shot in south Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are searching for three men in connection with a shooting Sunday inside the second floor of an apartment complex in south Nashville.

Three men, one armed with a shotgun, forced their way inside an apartment on Amalie Drive just before 4 p.m. During the robbery, a 19-year-old man was shot in the stomach.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he underwent surgery. He is expected to recover, say police.

This victim appears to have been targeted because of possible drug activity. Police said detectives are investigating the incident.
