SPRINGFIELD, TN (WSMV) -
A Portland family traveling with a baby was able to survive a car fire after the driver careened off the road.
The crash happened Sunday morning on Highway 49 in Springfield, TN. The car hit a tree and burst into flames.
The female driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, according to a report in the Smokey Barns News.
The driver told authorities that she fell asleep at the wheel. The child was not hurt in the wreck.
