Snow leads to traffic snarls

The snow refused to let up Saturday night and has caused a mess on area roads.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says there are several slick spots on I-65 between mile markers 114 and 117.

Several vehicles have wiped out in the are including a THP Patrol car, a tractor trailer, and a U-Haul Truck.

The southbound lanes are closed at highway 52 near Portland. The Tennessee Department of Transportation hopes to have those lanes open by 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

We have gotten reports of slick areas near Monterey in Overton county.

Sumner County officials say they have reports of slick areas on 31 East at Westmoreland.

Van Buren County officials had salt trucks out touching up the back roads and state highways early this morning.
