NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Police arrested a 13-year-old Metro eighth grade student Tuesday after he allegedly brought an unloaded weapon to his school in east Nashville.
A lockdown was reported before 2:45 p.m. at Bailey STEM Magnet Middle School in the 2000 block of Greenwood Avenue.
Officials said the student brought the .25 caliber handgun to campus in response to rumors of a fight at school. School resource officers found the weapon in the student's gym bag, police said.
No injuries were reported, and the lockdown was later lifted.
