Knife-wielding woman charged with prostitution, assault

Posted: Updated:

A possible case of prostitution turned violent at a Nashville hotel overnight, resulting in a woman facing assault charges.

Police were called to the Cumberland Hotel on West Trinity Lane for a possible stabbing.

When they arrived, the victim in the affidavit, Steven Davis, told officers that a woman pulled a knife on him.

Davis said she wouldn't let him leave the hotel room.

He said he paid Stephanie Evans for sex, but she changed her mind, took his money, pulled a knife and threatened to stab him.

Police charged Evans with one count of patronizing prostitution and one count of aggravated assault.

It's unclear if Davis will face charges.
